Since the lagoon is open to the sea you have to deal with the Brazilian tides. There are currents in the front of the spot, only when the water runs out, if you don't like that go in the bigger back part of the lagoon, there you find the whole day flat water conditions. If you like small waves because you are practicing the first steps on waves, go on the right side of the beach. Here you find (depending on the tides) a big area to stand in the water and the waves are not that high. If you prefer more radical waves, go to the left side of the beach, not for beginners there.
