About Rodrigues / La Passe Sud Est
Giant lagoon with flat water and some reform waves available. Tide can be a problem, and special care must be taken as the sea bed is covered with stag horn coral which is very sharp and breakable. Most of this spot is flat to very flat water riding, specially just inside the reefs edge where the broken waves flatten out the water in the lagoon. The reform waves will be found if you sail upwind towards the East, Northeast, just on the inner edge of the barrier at high tide. The reef here offers a perfect small break that runs an awesome wave for about 50-80 m. Some really serious surf is to be had passed L'Isle Aux Oiseaux, but it is so far that you will have to get a boat with local knowledge to take you there.
