About Ponce Inlet

Great waves on the oceanside, on either the north or south side of the inlet. You can drive on the beach on both sides of the inlet as long as it is not high tide. Current can be substantial, so downwinder may be advisable. Best on an outgoing tide with a wind with a easterly component. Can either stay on flat water or venture into excellent waves in the mouth of the inlet. Riders should be advanced level to ride here! Unless you have a boat to take you to disappearing island. Also, need to be religious on checking tide, wind, weather info every few hours.

How do I get to Ponce Inlet?

Daytona side: take I-95 to Dunlawton Avenue, go east to the beach, turn south on A1A launch anywhere between there and the end of A1A, Ponce inlet. New Smyrna side: take I-95 to State Road 44, go east over over the waterway, turn left on Peninsula Drive. Either turn east on beach Street on drive on the beach north to the inlet, or keep going on Peninsula Drive until it dead ends at Smyrna Dunes Park. Either a beach pass to drive or State Park pass to park car and walk to the beach.
